CIBC FirstCaribbean

Rockley Golf Course was in splendid condition for the CIBC First Caribbean Open last Saturday and fine scores were registered by the leading players in both flights. The tournament was postponed for two weeks following heavy rain at the start of the month and although there were several heavy showers the ground held firm and the competition was completed on the day.

The top gross prize went to Barbados golfer Judd Cozier who returned an impressive level par 70 to win by three shots. Malcolm Hunte (net 63) and Maggie da Silva (41 points) won their respective flights, while the best young player was Luc Doyle.

This is the third annual hosting of the tournament and CIBC First Caribbean Retail Director Rolf Phillips pledged the bank’s support for the competition going forward, before joining his wife Linda to present the prizes. All the participants received a CIBC First Caribbean ‘goodie bag’ and a buffet supper, drinks and some lively Karaoke entertainment followed the presentation.
