The Mount Gay Stableford

Saturday’s tournament was as always very competitive, the weather behaved itself and the course was set up beautifully, although some of the pin positions were very challenging. As the golfers finished their round they were greeted by sampling of Mount Gay’s Rum Punch which was warmly received by everyone.Marc McCollin, Mount Gay’s Marketing Manager came along to support the event, award the prizes and offer his continued support for the coming year.

The 2 Nearest to the Pin shots were won by Ian Dowding (Hole 2) and Anthony Kirton, (Hole 15). The 16+ handicap flight continuing his recent good form & in 3rd place was Maurice Clarke, in 2nd place was Peter Lamb but both were outshone by Peggy Rickinson with 42 points. The lower handicap flight (0-15), was just as competitive, in 3rd place was Gail Fields who was edged out by Anthony Kirton, also on a hot streak with 41 points, however they were both beaten by Mark Hasler with 42 points who promises his recent poor form is now behind him.
